Monday night's
Speed dating speed dating Love Lotto at Rozelle had lesser numbers
than usual because we had to change the date from the previous week
to this week and so we had 12 along, 7 women and 5 men. There were
two matches, both with the same man so there was a triangle, nothing
like a bit of intrigue. As one woman who matched with him said "He
was the ugliest guy of the lot but when he opened his mouth I knew he
was a perfect gentleman and the one that I wanted, he was the best of
the bunch". So men take hope, it's what is within that counts,
not your looks. Women don't go for looks (as they know the good
looking ones are bastards and trouble), but if the guy is good within
(and it takes her usually 8 - 20 minutes to work it out, if she is
interested she will talk to you) then good looks are a bonus.
Monday night's Speed dating at Rozelle saw numbers down on the 25 last month due to it occurring straight after a long weekend. This time we had 10, 4 women and 6 men and there were 3 matches involving 5 of the 10 people. 3 out of the 4 women got the man of their choice who chose them and 2 of the 6 guys were lucky enough to select a lady who selected them and got a match. One of the matches was straightforward and simple and the others were a triangle. It was a lot of fun and participants got 10 minutes each this time with each other. People worked off the prepared questions or simply chatted.
Monday night's Speed dating Love
Lotto Speed Dating Partner Finding Event at Rozelle was the most
successful so far with 29 people appearing, 15 women and 14 men. Two
men took off straightaway after paying having checked out the women
and seeing none they liked the look of and one other man decided to
play pool instead. His friend he came with ended up in a match and
one women took off half way through perhaps through to a fit of
anxiety. This left 14 women and 11 men to play.
The 15/14 women
had 5 minutes each with each man and the men rotated around the
circle of tables of the women. A set of questions was provided, some
simple and non intrusive, some quite forthright and confronting. Some
people asked the questions, others just chatted in their 5 minutes
each. At the end most of the participants filled in their slips and
the slips were collected and analyzed to find the two way matches
where two people had picked each other as the person they would most
like for an instant relationship.
There were 91 selections in
which 9 men and 9 women out of the total received selections. These
selections lead to 9 two way matches involving 11 of the 25 who
participated. 5 women and 6 men were lucky enough to end up in the 9
two way matches. Some people received quite a few selections but
through failure to select a person who selected them missed out on
any matches. Only one match was straightforward with no
complications, one woman and two men ended up in a two match triangle
and the rest, 3 men and 3 women ended up in an entanglement of 6
matches with one women ending up in 3 matches, another women in 2 and
the 3 men in two matches each, all interrelated.
Monday's Speed dating night at Rozelle turned out to be a perfect night and a great success. We had 14 participants seriously looking for a relationship and exactly even numbers. We had a record 7 matches on the night with 9 attendees involved in the 7 matches so some got more than one. In the first part people rotated and asked each other intensive questions off the questions sheet some of which were real “canopeners”. People had 8 minutes to ask each other questions or chat. During the questioning process people filled in their slips putting down the numbers of the people they liked. If two people secretly wrote each other's number down we had a match! Then we had the matches which was the climax and highlight of the evening. The night went very well and we will be repeating the event soon. People who attended ranged from mid 30's to early 50's. I think everyone felt it was excellent value for the $25 and hopefully many will come again and we will have many new people next time.
Since a process like this requires a constant input of new people we ask all participants to assist in the locating of new people without which the process cannot work. The person you bring may choose you. In this sort of event if everyone is bringing along new people whom they have found at parties etc. then there are more people for everyone to choose from and the more chance you have of getting the person perfectly suited for you.
